Clinisys completes acquisition of Sunquest, Horizon and Apollo

Clinisys has announced it has completed the acquisition of Sunquest Information Systems, Horizon Lab Systems and ApolloLIMS and all three will be brought into the Clinisys brand.

The completion makes the brand one of the largest information system providers for laboratories globally, with over 3,000 customers in four different countries. It is operating in laboratory sectors that include healthcare, water, crop science, contract services, life sciences, environmental, food and beverage, pharma and public health.

Clinisys acquired Horizon Lab Systems at the start of this year, as it looked to create one of the largest organisations dedicated to diagnostics and laboratory informatics. It then went on to acquire ApolloLIMS in April 2022, in a move that continued to support the company’s vision to enable a new wave of digital diagnostics and community laboratories.

Michael Simpson, Clinisys CEO, said: “Combining the businesses gives us the scale to help tackle the biggest informatics challenges faced by laboratories today, helping to streamline workflows and improve the health and wellbeing of communities worldwide.”

The news of the combination marks the next step in Clinisys’ journey to expanding its global presence and its breadth of expertise in transforming the modern laboratory.

Simpson continued: “We are consolidating behind the Clinisys brand to signal our expanded support for a much wider range of industries and sectors, as well as global operations.”

Current customers will be unaffected by the combination, and they will continue to access the existing products and services provided to them. They will however, be delivered using the new Clinisys brand.

Simpson added. “As we look to the future, we will continue to invest in our core products and solutions from each of the combined businesses, as part of our long-term integrated Clinisys Laboratory Platform strategy. This means customers will benefit from continuity while tapping into our expanded capabilities and scale.”
