Ming Tang has been appointed chief digital and information officer at NHS England on an interim basis following the departure of John Quinn.

Alongside her current role as chief data and analytics officer (CDAO) at NHSE, Tang began her interim role on 1 April 2025 following Quinn’s exit, which was announced in January 2025.

Samantha Jones, a former Downing Street official who has also run hospitals and worked for NHSE, is due to be appointed permanent secretary of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), HSJ reports.

Health secretary Wes Streeting’s adviser Tom Kibasi is to be appointed as the lead strategy adviser at NHSE.

Kibasi joined the DHSC in February 2025 and has been leading the writing of the government’s 10 year health plan, as well as advising Streeting.

He is due to join NHSE in the coming months and is expected to report to new chief executive Sir Jim Mackey.

Chris Hopson, chief strategy officer at NHSE, will leave his role at the end of June 2025.

Hopson was appointed to oversee NHSE’s strategy and communications team three years ago by former chief executive Amanda Pritchard, who left at the end of March.

The Foundation Group has appointed two interim chief executives after the group’s substantive chief executive Glen Burley joined the NHS transformation executive team at NHSE.

Stephen Colman, currently managing director of Worcestershire Acute, will be acting chief executive for that trust and Wye Valley Trust.

Adam Carson, currently managing director of South Warwickshire, will be acting chief executive for that trust and for George Eliot.

Digital health company Ufonia has announced two appointments to its leadership team, with Richard Armitage joining as commercial director and Richard Whittington the new UK partnerships director.

Graphnet Health, provider of population health, shared care record and remote monitoring solutions, has appointed Liz Slynn as its new commercial and business development director.

Healthcare technology provider Tunstall Healthcare has appointed Mark Hindle as its new managing director for UK and Ireland.

Hindle is tasked with driving health and care integration plans for the region by leveraging technology to enable older people and those with long-term needs to live independently for longer.
