In Practice Systems and in4tek have formed a partnership in order to jointly provide an integrated PCT/StHA solution to meet the expanding needs of the NHS National Programme “Delivering 21st Century IT Support for the NHS”.

The two companies say that the new partnership will enable them to offer a solution able to address all aspects of primary and community care, together with integrated social care.

By working together they two specialist systems suppliers say they can now deliver a full Integrated Care Records Service (ICRS) based on proven, deliverable components.

The joint product offered will be called Vision-Paris (ViP), a web-based solution designed to meet the corporate information needs of PCTs and Strategic Health Authorities, and directly support front-line staff including GPs, practice based nurses, district nurses, health visitors and allied health professionals. Options will also be made available to support community mental health, community nurses, child health and social care practitioners involved in care management.

ViP is said to provide a patient-centric view of the total delivery of care in the community. The integrated electronic patient record is available to clinicians from any authorised web-enabled desktop. The system can also be deployed in secondary care, providing results requesting and reporting and departmental applications such as diabetes, rheumatology and oncology.

The new ViP product is a flexible web-based system that will be optionally available to NHS organisations as a managed service.
