Connecting for Health’s GP2GP record transfer project is meeting its targets ahead of schedule and expects to reach 100,000 record transfers by the end of March.
Latest figures from the project show that by 19 February the software had been installed in 3500 practices, five weeks ahead of the target date.
The GP2GP project team now predicts that it will achieve 100,000 transfers and have 4,000 eligible sites live by the end of March 2008.
A spokesperson for CfH told EHI Primary Care: “Continued success to date can be attributed to the close working relationships established between the central GP2GP team, the clinical system suppliers, GPs and local staff and the strategic health authorities and primary care trust teams. The relatively smooth roll-out is the result of an immense amount of hard work from all parties involved in the deployment of GP2GP.”
So far the systems accredited for GP2GP record transfer are EMIS LV and INPS Vision 3.
The CfH spokesperson added: “Consultation with the other GP system suppliers, including iSoft and TPP, will continue throughout 2008. We expect more software products to become GP2GP compliant later in the year.”
