WordPress Developer

We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic WordPress developer based in London. You will be working remotely but will be required to come into the office once every week, this is subject to change over time. You will be working on existing bespoke platforms adding new functionality as well as maintaining the current sites, this will include plugin and WordPress updates.

As a small organisation, there will be occasions where you will need to work with the production team to help get new pages and content live. This can include adding copy and images to the site and/or modifying images with Photoshop for the site or social media. This generally occurs around the build up to our events.

This in turn will help you to grow your skills and knowledge.

Desired skills:

  • Advanced understanding of WordPress
  • Experienced in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and JS development, with considerable experience developing custom WordPress themes and plugins
  • Experience working as part of a development team (minimum 2+ years)
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think clearly and logically
  • Experience with Version Control systems (Git)
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs
  • Basic skills with Adobe Photoshop
  • Knowledge of Power BI would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Azure would be advantageous
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

As part of the Production and development team, you’ll be responsible for the following activities:

  • Deliver WordPress development for a variety of web projects
  • Help scope and define functionality, including identifying areas where the project could benefit from additional features
  • Follow development processes and style guides
  • Identify code or concepts that can be re-used or re-purposed for other projects
  • Ensure that your projects are delivered to the requirements and on the agreed timeline
  • Ensure that your code reflects designs to a high quality
  • Offer technical advice and guidance to colleagues from other departments.
