Northgate Public Services has launched a web-based demand management system to support world class commissioning.

Demand Manager is aimed at helping primary care trusts to improve the way they commission health and care services and work with providers.

It gives both commissioners and providers online access to referral and national performance information, so they can compare their performance with national trends and see where savings and efficiencies can be made.

Andy Gordon-Jones, director of health at Northgate Public Services, said: “We have designed this easy to use referral management system to enable commissioners and providers to plan, commission and deliver services more effectively and efficiently.”

This year’s NHS Operating Framework encourages PCTs and providers to work together on demand management.

Gordon-Jones added: “It also gives professionals the information they need to make investment choices wisely – to enhance service design, drive through continuous improvement and promote innovation in local well being services.”

The hosted, web-based system presents information that is based on routinely collected data in various formats, such as graphics and maps.

Last month, Northgate signed a three year contract with the Department of Health to help deliver Patient Reported Outcome Measures, which will give the health service a patient perspective on NHS services.
