Rotherham selects Intouch to help digitise outpatient department
Most recently, Digital Health News reported on Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust selecting Intouch with Health to deliver a digital transformation of its outpatient department.
New digital tools introduced will include digital patient check-in kiosks, which will allow outpatients to register their arrival for their appointment before directing them to the relevant waiting area, and digital patient-calling screens.
Also this week, County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust has signed a 10-year deal with Cerner which will see the implementation of an integrated EPR.
The trust join the likes of the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, which signed a 15-year agreement with Cerner in June 2018.
The deal was finalised after County Durham and Darlington’s board gave its approval but no further details have been released yet.
Integrated care record to be introduced across Swindon and Wiltshire
January has also seen Graphnet awarded a contract to implement an integrated care record across Swindon and Wiltshire.
The project will bring together health and care records from 94 general practices, Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, Wiltshire Health and Care, Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, Swindon Borough Council, Wiltshire Council, Bath and North East Somerset Council, Medvivo, Virgin Care and Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.
Remote monitoring launched across Hampshire and Isle of Wight
On the go live side of things, January saw the launch of digital platform which supports the remote care of Covid-19 patients across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Inhealthcare has been rolled-out in primary, acute and out-of-hour care settings. So far, the Isle of Wight, West Hampshire and Portsmouth areas are live, with the rest of the county to follow in the coming days.
The service will help healthcare staff and patients monitor symptoms of suspected or confirmed Covid-19 patients, while maintaining social distancing and allowing them to recover safely at home.
Patient portal deployed across the Royal Free
Last but by no means least, the last month has also seen Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust announce it has deployed a portal which allows patients to view their appointments and letters online.
Induction Zesty was selected to deliver the My RFL Care portal.
Since it was launched in August 2020, more than 50,000 patients have registered for the service with 250,000 expected to register in the first year.
