Isoft Health, a division of Australia’s IBA Health Group, has confirmed that Adrian Stevens has been appointed as managing director of iSoft Health, for UK and Ireland.

The appointment will see Stevens take responsibility for iSoft’s key contracts with existing NHS customers and with Computer Sciences Corporation, the local service provider for the North, Midlands and East regions of the National Programme for IT (NPfIT) in the NHS.

As UK MD of Agfa Stevens was responsible for first winning the contracts for, and then ensuring the delivery of, Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS) contracts in the North, East and East Midlands of England.

Stevens replaces Paul Richards, as iSoft’s UK and Ireland MD.

Stevens first joined iSoft earlier this year, moving from Agfa Health where he was UK MD. In moving to iSoft Stephens became the second senior Agfa Health executive to join the company, following his ex-colleague Andrea Fiumicelli, now iSoft’s chief operating officer.

According to an iSoft press statement: “A key responsibility will be to provide overall leadership of iSoft’s activities on the NPfIT where iSoft is delivering Lorenzo, its next-generation solutions to 60% of the NHS in England.”

Lorenzo is currently in early pilot phase at South Birmingham PCT and University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust.

Stevens will also be responsible for selling iSoft products and services outside the LSP contracts and NPfIT deals. E-Health insider understands this will include focusing on stabilising existing iSoft sites, competing for new business in London and the South, and developing the company’s business within the public and private sectors.

Isoft’s COO, Andrea Fiumicelli said of the appointment: “Adrian will have a pivotal role in developing our business in the UK and Ireland both within the national programme, the NHS generally, the Irish HSE, and the private healthcare sector.
