CompuGroup Holding AG, the German provider of E-health solutions, is expanding its business to focus on growth in South-East and Eastern Europe with the creation of a new business unit called CompuGroup CEE.

The company says that its new business unit, which will be based in Vienna, will focus on addressing the e-health markets in Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia and Greece,

CompuGroup says it has created the new unit to better focus on developments in the health care systems in eastern and south-eastern Europe that are undergoing great change. Opportunities are highlighted in recent new EU member states of Romania and Bulgaria, together with potential EU candidate states such as Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia.

CompuGroup CEE will focus on sales and development of comprehensive introduction of electronic patient medical records. In addition, the new company will operate as a complete e-health systems supplier.

CompuGroup CEE will be run by its two managing directors – Willibald Salomon and Hannes Reichl.

"The broad product portfolio, as well as the immense pool of expertise that exists within CompuGroup, enable us to address the full spectrum within the healthcare system. This simplifies market entry into eastern European countries, where, in parallel to the implementation of IT solutions for health professionals, networking projects are also initiated," said Reichl.

"Providing young or newly emerging healthcare systems with appropriate electronic tools from the outset, in order to be able to build up structures for a lastingly affordable system of medical care that is accessible to everyone, represents both a challenge and a mission to us,” added Reichl.
