Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership selects TPP for EPR

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT) has confirmed that TPP will supply its new EPR, following a “rigorous tender process”.

In a blog post published on 25 May 2025, CWPT said that the SystmOne EPR is intended to ensure patients receive “more personalised, timely and coordinated care” by giving clinical teams instant access to up-to-date information.

It will be centred around three key aims: enhancing patient care, empowering people, and building a system with a strong foundation for future advancements.

Mental health trust awards DrDoctor £572k patient portal contract

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust has awarded a patient engagement portal contract worth £572,000 to DrDoctor.

The deployment of the DrDoctor platform, which is currently in the early delivery stage with no go-live date set, will enable automated appointment confirmations and reminders via SMS, email and the NHS App, and instant access to digital letters through secure patient portals and app integration.

It will also allow NHS App connectivity to enable push notifications and appointment management in existing patient tools.

UPMC Ireland to implement MEDITECH Expanse EPR

Global healthcare provider UPMC Ireland has confirmed it will implement the MEDITECH Expanse EPR.

Expanse was selected to deliver a single, shared intelligence platform across UPMC Ireland’s four hospitals, two cancer centres and six sports medicine clinics, featuring clinical, administrative and financial solutions.

The 10-year contract with MEDITECH was signed in April 2025 and the implementation project will begin in summer 2025, with the EPR go live expected by the end of 2026.

Hertfordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care rolls out Rio EPR

Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust has rolled out the Rio EPR system, supplied by The Access Group.

The project aims to improve care delivery across the trust’s sites. The EPR system, which went live across the trust on 12 May 2025, connects multiple systems into one, where staff can access patients’ health and care information quickly and securely.

The system is part of a plan to streamline workflows across the organisation, reducing administrative burden for staff and enhancing patient experiences.

Physiotherapy platform Phio goes live at 11 NHS organisations

Eleven NHS organisations, including three primary care networks (PCNs) have deployed musculoskeletal (MSK) triage and rehabilitation technology Phio.

South Sefton PCN, NHS Orkney, and NHS Shetland are the latest organisations to go live with the solution in March 2025, meaning that around 2.3 million patients now have the option to begin physiotherapy care on their phone.

The Phio Access conversational computational assessment, built by EQL, asks the patient adaptive questions drawn from a decision-tree library covering more than 3,000 MSK scenarios.

East Cheshire and Mid Cheshire trusts launch joint EPR

East Cheshire NHS Trust and Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have gone live with a joint EPR.

The EPR from MEDITECH launched on 14 June 2025, as part of the Digital Clinical System (DCS) transformation programme being delivered by the two trusts.

It is hoped that the joint approach will help improve clinical decision-making and enhance patient safety across the hospitals at both trusts.
